DIRECTOR OF TRACK AND FIELD/ CROSS COUNTRY MIKE SMITH'S COMMENTS:
"This is our third year coming out here to Irvine for spring break and once again the weather is ideal and we got a nice start to the outdoor season. There were a number of good performances here in Fullerton. Rebecca Cousens has waited all year to throw the hammer and she had a nice series yesterday and her 49-meter throw is her best opener of her career. Cali McMullen looked very good in both relays and in the 100 meter. She is just scratching the surface in what she is capable of. She is a great competitor and will continue to play a significant role on our team. Cassie Mundekis is running with a lot of confidence right now and her 800 meter was a strong opener. She is another one of our women that has lofty goals and if she reaches them she will be competing at a pretty high level. We will be working hard all week and taking advantage of warm and sunny conditions.
UP NEXT: Army will continue action on the West Coast as they take part in the Spring Break Invitational hosted by U.C., Irvine on the 17th and 18th in Irvine, Calif.
