IRVINE, CALIF – The Army West Point women's track and field team continues to improve during second day of Spring Break Classic.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
TRACK EVENTS
- Army kicked off competition with a fourth place finish in the 4x100 meter relay. The team of Whidney Desormo, Calli McMullen, Emily Malone and Yasheika Beckaroo crossed the finish line with a time of 47.43s.
- In the 1500-meter run sophomore Cassie Mundekis pulled out a third place finish with a time of 4:40.81. She is joined by first-year Bethany Nunnery who finished fourth with a time of 4:41.38.
- Lynne Mooradian was the top finisher for Army in the 100-meter hurdles finishing fifth with a time of 14.60s.
- Desormo, Beckaroo and Malone finish in the sixth, seventh and ninth of the 100-meter dash with times of 12.33s, 12.43s and 12.59s, respectfully.
- Haley Watson finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles clocking a time of 1:05.57.
- McMullen shined in the 200-meter dash crossing the finish line sixth with a time of 24.85s.
- Nunnery captures gold in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:53.31.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of McMullen, Desormo, Mooradian and Mundekis finished third with a time of 3:52.28.
FIELD EVENTS
- Senior captain Cori Lemere captured second in the long jump with a leap of 5.91 meters.
- Tya'tianna Johnson finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.31 meters.
- In the pole vault Maddie Schneider places second with a height of 3.35 meters.
- Carrie Wasdyke and Kamryn Brinson go nine, ten in the shot put with distances of 12.32 meters and 11.89 meters, respectfully.
