February 25, 2018 | Rifle
MORGANTOWN, W.VA.– No.12 Army West Point rifle placed sixth overall in the Great America Rifle Conference Championships (GARC).
On Saturday, the team garnered a final score of 2293 in the smallbore discipline, which was good for sixth place.
The Black Knights scored 2346 in air rifle, bringing their aggregate score to 4639. This score was good for sixth place overall.
Coach's Quotes:
"Scores, across the entire conference, were pretty low here," said head coach Web Wright. "I don't think any of the coaches were satisfied with how their teams did."
"Payne Nunn led the way in air rifle with a 591. He was close to the final but just missed out. We will work on a couple of things before we head to NCAAs in two weeks."
"The plebes will start getting ready for the Junior Olympics in April. So there is still some work to do before we close the post-season out. We need to learn what we can from this one, drop those lessons in our rucksack and get better for next time."

NEXT UP:
Payne Nunn will head to the NCAA Championships in the air rifle discipline on March 9-10, in Charleston, S.C.
