Army Secures Lead in Star Match

PINE VALLEY, N.J. - The Army West Point golf team used a strong outing from a pair of rookies to take the early 3-1 lead over Navy after round one of their star match with Navy at Pine Valley Country Club.

The teams played four-ball matches today and will finish the match tomorrow with singles play. Gary Bullard and Marshall Daniel made quick work of their opponents with an 8-and-7 victory, playing 11 holes of the scheduled 18. James McKee and Samuel Kim finished their match at 3-and-2 for the win, while Gunnar Doyle and Tom Katsenes teamed up for a 2-and-1 victory over Navy.

The match at Pine Valley continues tomorrow morning.
