Army Competes In Round Two At Clemson

SALEM, S.C. - The Army West Point golf team completed the second day of the Clemson Invitational on Saturday and currently sits tied for tenth.

The Cadets posted a +5 team score of 293, putting them eleven over par at 587 through two days of competition. Georgia Tech continues to lead the field, finishing -17 on the day to stretch their advantage to five strokes over second place Georgia. Duke, Clemson and Virginia currently round out the top-five.

TOURNAMENT NOTES

Team captain Nick Turner remained consistent for the Black Knights with a 1-under par 71 round on Saturday and sits even par for the tournament.
He is tied for 26th on the player leaderboard and posted four birdies on the day, including one of hole 16 to get to 1-under on the day.
Matt Plunkett also shot a 1-under par 71 in round two and he birdied two of the final four holes to get to 1-under and he is 2-over for the tournament.
Plunkettt added his second eagle of the invitational as he carded one on the second hole of the day.
Tom Katsenes scored 3-over 75 on day two and is 7-over for the tournament, while Justin Williamson is 3-over after day two and he scored a 76 (+4) on the second day.
