WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's soccer team dropped a non-league tilt to Fairfield, 1-0, on Tuesday night at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field.

The score for the Stags (2-3-2) was the only shot on goal that the Army (2-3-1) defense allowed, but it turned out to be enough in the end. Fairfield got help from its goalkeeper, Gordon Botterill, who made seven saves in between the pipes.

Keenan O'Shea led the Army attack with five shots on the night as the Black Knights held the edge in shots, 12-10.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

The Black Knights logged double-digit shots in a game for the fifth time this season.
Army has outshot the opposition in four of six outings.
O'Shea placed three of his five shots on goal.
As a team, the Black Knights had seven of their 12 shots placed on goal.
It was the 12th all-time meeting between Army and Fairfield.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the 19th minute, Colman King, of the Stags, sent a through ball to Cooper Knecht and he buried a shot into the net to put Fairfield up 1-0.
