HAMPDEN, Mass. – The Army West Point golf team sits in a tie for fourth after the opening round of the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse Country Club.
The Black Knights shot a team score of 298 (+10) on the day and they are tied with the Huskies for the fourth spot on the leaderboard. Lafayette and Columbia are six strokes ahead of Army in the lead at 4-over for the tournament. Hartford's Ryan Tomaso is at the top of the individual leaderboard after a 5-under 67 on day one.

- Justin Williamson and Tom Katsenes led the way for the Black Knights by shooting 1-over par 73 on the day.
- Katsenes started off well and was 1-under through the first 14 holes of the round.
- Williamson carded three birdies during his play and was 1-under through the first 10 holes of the tournament.
- Katsenes and Williamson are in a tie for eighth on the individual leaderboard.
- James McKee shot a 3-over 75 and added three birdies during his round and nine pars.
