Women's Tennis Drops Tough 6-1 Matchup With CMS

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Army West Point women's tennis team traveled to the west coast for a pair of spring break matchups, starting with Claremont McKenna College on Sunday morning. The Black Knights suffered a tough 6-1 loss to the Athenas, moving them to a 12-4 overall record. Before returning to West Point, the team will compete against Pomona College Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Army started the day with three straight victories in doubles play to give the team a quick 1-0 lead over the Athenas. The most dominant performance came from the duo of Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent who notched an 8-3 win and set the tone for the remainders of doubles competition. The duo opened the door for Paola Bou/Sophie McKenzie and Hannah Boubel/Sasha Inchauste to secure wins as well.
The Black Knight struggled to find momentum in singles play however, allowing the Athena's to move ahead in six straight matchups.
