Army Dominates Sacred Heart on Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. --- Army West Point women's rugby dominated Sacred Heart on its senior day 53-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Anderson Rugby Complex.

The Black Knights showed dominance in the first half scoring six tries. Charisma Henry scored the first two tries for Army halfway through the first quarter. Kahala Bandmann and Rebecca Syrup each followed with a try of their own to up Army's lead to 20-0. Sacred Heart fought back to get three points on the board. With less than a minute left to go, Julia Riekan powered her way to the try zone get one last point on the board for the Cadets, 25-3.

Codi Butt came alive in the second half for the Black Knights scoring a try and a conversion at in the 38^th minute to up their lead to 33-3. Army continued to maintain control of the match keep the action on the Pioneer's end of the pitch. Henry broke through tackles in the 35^th minute and touched the try zone, making a hat trick. Butt completed the conversion making Army's lead 39-3.

Army went on to score two more tries, one by Hope Moseley that had the conversion complete by Butt, and one by Christina Ellis in the last minute of the match. Sylvi Imrem scored the conversion for the Black Knights to make the final score 53-3.
