Golf Sits 5th at UConn Invite After Round Two

HADLEY, Mass. - The Army West Point golf team played a rainy round two at the UConn Invitational on Monday and slipped to fifth place in the team competition heading into the final day at GreatHorse Golf Course.
The Black Knights shot a team score of 307 (+19) on the second day, while Rhode Island remained at the top of the leadeboard and is the only team under par for the tournament at -1.

The final round of the UConn Invitational is set to tee off on Tuesday morning from GreatHorse Golf Course.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- John Heckel Jr. continued to keep pace with the leaders for the individual title as he sits in a tie for fifth at 2-under par.
- Heckel Jr. gave two shots back in round two with a 2-over 74. He posted two birdies and four bogeys during his round on Monday.
- The plebe sits four shots back of the lead which is shared by UConn's Caleb Manuel and Justin Burkhamer of Iona.
- Team captain Tom Katsenes is tied for 10th overall and shot a 4-over 75 on Monday.
