Golf Opens Season at Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – The Army West Point golf team was in action for the first time in 2021 and currently sits 15th at the Palmetto Intercollegiate after the first two rounds.

The Black Knights finished the first two rounds of the tournament, which features some of the top programs in the nation, on Monday and carded a 605 (+45) as a team and improved its scoring between the first and second round by 13 strokes.

Dragon Theam was Army's top golfer through the two rounds and sits 9-over par for the tournament for 56th and shot a 1-over par in round two to improve his position. Captain James McKee finished at +11 for the first two rounds and was 2-over in his second round of the day, while Marshall Daniel was one stroke behind McKee at 12-over.

The teams are back out on the course tomorrow for a 9 a.m. tee time at Palmetto Golf Club.
