Katsenes Leads Army at Round 2 of Gene Miranda Falcon Invite

USAFA, Colo. – The Army West Point golf team remained in 19th place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite after round two on Saturday at the Eisenhower Golf Course.

The Black Knights shaved 12 strokes off of its score from the first round and ended up at 297 for the day. They currently have a team score of 606 (+30) through the first two rounds. UC Davis remains at the top of the leaderboard at 25-under par as a team.

How it Happened
Team captain Tom Katsenes shot up the individual leaderboard with a 2-under 70 in the second round. He had four birdies, including a stretch with three in four holes when making the turn. He is now tied for 52nd with the final round to come tomorrow.

John Heckel Jr. continued his good start to the year with an even-par 72 on Saturday and heads into the third round in a tie for 38th on the individual leaderboard. He posted four birdies during his round.

Among the individual competitors on the Silver Course, Samuel Kim fired an even-par round of 72 and he jumped up seven spots on the leaderboard and sits in 13th heading into the last day of the tournament.
