WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights had their six-game unbeaten run snapped with a 1-0 defeat to the American University Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

GAME SUMMARY
A goal in the 19^th minute made the difference in the tightly contested matchup between two teams near the top of the Patriot League standings.

After being put under pressure by the Black Knights, the Eagles slowly found their way into the game which culminated to the game-winning goal from Mattias Cooper's well-placed shot to the far post after receiving a pass from Dilane Zouantcha.
Army had a few chances as the half progressed but went into the break scoreless.

The Black Knights were on the front-foot to start the second half with scoring chances by Sam Epitime (50') and Gage Guerra (51'). However, despite controlling possession for most of the second half, the Black Knights were unable to find the equalizer.
American nearly made it 2-0 in the 74^th minute, but Troy Elgersma pushed his close-range effort wide right. Army's Jack Eaton came close to tying the game in the 88^th minute but his shot was saved.

The Black Knights were 4-0-2 in the previous six games dating back to September 7.
