Army Earns Two Wins On Sunday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's tennis extended its winning streak to five matches with a 4-3 win over Bryant and a 4-0 victory over Fairfield on Sunday.
Doubles
The Black Knights won the point after sweeping all three matches. Army won in two doubles with Daniel Zhou and Samuel Haikal picking up a 6-2 victory. Army broke Bryant in one and three doubles en route to 6-4 wins.
Singles
The match came down to six singles. The Black Knights had wins in three and five singles. Daniel Zhou won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, in three singles while doubles partner Samuel Haikal won his singles matches, 6-3, 6-3,
However, Bryant earned victories in one, two and four singles.
Stanley Liu, playing in the six spot, won the first set 7-5. He was edged in a tie-break in the second set to setup the deciding set. Liu bounced back with a convincing 6-0 win in the third set to clinch the match for the Black Knights.
Doubles
The Black Knights had to battle to win the doubles point, eventually winning all three matches. Army pulled out 7-5 wins in both No. 1 doubles – Samuel Eden/Diego Huttepain – and No. 3 doubles – Vishnu Bodavula and Nathan Jose.
Singles
Army won three singles matches to clinch the match. A.J. Woodman and Bodavula won their respective matches in two and four singles, 6-3, 6-1. Jake Huarte earned a 6-4, 6-2 win in six singles.
