Golf Concludes Opening Round at Schenkel Invite

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Army West Point golf team opened the 42nd Schenkel Invitational on Friday and sits in 15th following the opening round.

The Black Knights posted a team score of 303 (+15) on day one. The hosts, Georgia Southern, is at the top of the team leaderboard at 15-under par. College of Charleston's Kieron van Wyk had the low round of the day with a 6-under 66 to lead on the player leaderboard.

TOURNAMENT NOTES

John Heckel Jr. was Army's top performer on the course with a 1-over 73 and he was consistent with two birdies.
Tom Katsenes finished his opening round with a 3-over 75.
