WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team notched its fourth straight win after upending the Monmouth Hawks, 18-13, on Saturday.
GAME SUMMARY
The Black Knights outscored the Hawks, 5-2, the second quarter which created the separation en route to the win. Army struck early, scoring 34 seconds into the game on a goal by Carleigh Armstrong for her first of five tallies. Armstrong and Julia Gorajek made it 3-1 after seven minutes. Kathleen Sullivan and Jolie Riedell added goals for a 5-2 lead with four minutes left in the first quarter.
Monmouth netted the last goal of the first quarter and the first goal of the second quarter to cut Army's lead to 5-4. The Black Knights, then, scored five of the next six goals. Sidney Weigand started a three-goal run at the 11-minute mark and then Armstrong followed with a pair of goals for an 8-4 lead with five minutes left in the quarter. After a Monmouth goal, Sullivan and Riedell capped the scoring for a 10-5 halftime lead. The Hawks cut Army's lead to 11-8 with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter as Army went into the fourth quarter with a 13-10 lead.
The Black Knights effectively sealed the game by scoring four of the next five goals in the fourth quarter for a 17-11 lead with four minutes left.

- Kathleen Sullivan finished with five points after scoring three goals and dishing out two assists.
