Women’s Tennis Blanks Vassar

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's tennis team got back into the win column on Wednesday afternoon at the Malek Tennis Center, defeating Vassar 4-0.
The Cadets (20-9, 3-2 PL) snapped a six-match winning streak for the Brewers (12-2, 5-0 Liberty League) while handing the team just its second loss of the 2021-22 season.
Army built its lead early in the match and locked up the doubles point in dominant fashion. After a quick 6-0 win by Sam DiMaio and Julia Kelly at the No. 2 spot, the tandem of Paola Bou and Justine Dondonay defeated its opponents 6-1 on the top court to put the Black Knights ahead 1-0.
The home team carried the winning momentum into singles play, where Sophie McKenzie's 6-0, 6-1 win at the fourth flight extended the advantage to 2-0. A pair of back-to-back wins from Paulina Feoli and Jenna Sabile then officially sealed the deal for Army, moving the team to 2-1 on its outdoor courts.

Army Women's Tennis will remain at home for a match against Patriot League foe Colgate on Thursday, April 14. The date with the Raiders is set for a 3 p.m. start time and will be preceded by a senior day ceremony.
