April 02, 2022 | Women's Tennis
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point women's tennis team was defeated 4-1 at the hands of Navy in the Star Match, presented by USAA, on Saturday afternoon in Annapolis.
The Black Knights' (18-8, 2-1 PL) lone point of the match was earned by Paige Herremans, who picked up a straight-set win at No. 6 singles.
Army nearly eked out the doubles point on Navy's (19-3, 3-0 PL) home courts, as the tandem of Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent began the day with a 6-1 result at the first flight. Despite the other Cadet duos battling, the Mids were able to secure back-to-back 6-4 wins to take a 1-0 lead.
Herremans worked quickly in singles, recording her 6-4, 6-1 victory in order to knot the score up at 1-1. Unfortunately, it was the closest that the Black Knights got as the home team collected wins at the third, fourth and second courts in order.
The result ties the past four meetings between the sides at 2-2.

Army will continue its road trip with a match at Loyola on Sunday, April 3. The action in Baltimore is set for an 11 a.m. start. The Black Knights lead the series against the Greyhounds 6-0 all-time.
