Men’s Tennis Takes Doubles Point In Defeat At Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Black Knights won the doubles point before falling to first-place Navy, 4-1, in the Star Series presented by USAA on Saturday.

DOUBLES (1,3)
Army won the doubles point for the sixth time in seven league matches. All three matches were close. In No. 1 doubles, Thomas Lake and A.J. Woodman edged Sasha Panyan and Derrick Thompson, 6-4. The No. 3 doubles team of Jake Huarte and Nathan Jose outlasted Jack Dabek and Luke Garner, 7-5, to clinch the point. No. 2 doubles was tied at 5-5 when the point was clinched.

SINGLES (6,3,1,2)
Army entered the singles portion with a 1-0 lead, but dropped four-straight singles matches . All four matches were in straight sets with the Black Knights narrowly falling in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4, and in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
