WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team easily dispatched the Lafayette Leopards, 20-2, in its regular-season finale on Friday. The win clinches the No. 2 seed and a bye into the semifinals in next week's Patriot League Championship.
GAME SUMMARY
The Black Knights were coming off a historic victory when they defeated rival Navy, 14-9, on April 23 in Annapolis. The win was the program's first-ever over the Mids in seven attempts and the first win over a ranked opponent.
Army, though, was locked in on its next opponent. The Black Knights scored under a minute into today's contest en route to a 9-0 lead. Army led 8-0 after the first quarter with five different goal scorers. Sidney Weigand, Julia Gorajek, and Kathleen Sullivan all had a pair.
After Lafayette scored its first goal at the 13-minute mark of the second quarter, the Black Knights added four more goals in the second quarter. Sullivan added a pair followed by Gorajek and Carleigh Armstrong to conclude a dominating first-half performance with a 13-1 lead at the break.

The Black Knights led 16-1 after three quarters. Gorajek added to her team-leading goal total with Armstrong and Madison Warne also scoring in the quarter. The Army reserves, who played the bulk of the second half, continued the offensive attack while also constraining Lafayette's scoring chances. Freshman Alyce Smith scored her first goal of her career to kick start the fourth quarter. Gabby Mirak and Emma Hampel made it 19-1 before the Leopards scored their second goal with three minutes remaining. Warne capped the scoring with a free-position goal with 1:26 remaining.

- Kathleen Sullivan had eight points on game-highs in goals with four and assists with four. The eight points are the fourth-most in program history.

- The Black Knights will be the No. 2 seed in the 2022 Patriot League Championship hosted by Loyola Maryland. Army will play on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. against the highest remaining seed.
