Women's Basketball Wins Fourth In A Row Over Talented Holy Cross

Worcester, MA – Army West Point (8-12, 6-4) won its fourth straight game defeating Holy Cross (16-5, 8-2) on the road, 74-66.
The dynamic senior-freshman duo of Sabria Hunter and Reese Ericson was on full display once again on Saturday afternoon, as they led the Army women to its fourth straight victory.
Ericson had a game high 18 points, on 6-12 shooting from the floor and was a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. She also dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds.
Hunter secured her 14th double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Her 14 double-doubles rank fifth most in the NCAA.
Lauren Lithgow connected on a three-pointer, giving Army an early 22-20 lead in the second quarter.
Holy Cross' Bronagh Power-Cassidy gave the Crusaders a five point half time advantage scoring on a layup around a minute until half. She had 10 first half points.
In the second half, Natalie Rhine made a three, helping cut Holy Cross' lead down to three, 43-40. Soon after, Reese Ericson made a jumper to bring the Black Knights within one, 45-44.
Army took the lead on a layup by Hope Brown and with the lead, the Black Knights didn't look back.
At the end of the third, Army led 50-45.
In the fourth was when Ericson took over scoring 10 of her 18 points. Ericson drained two jumpers to help Army maintain the lead and was a clutch 6-6 from the foul line in the final minutes of the game. Army put the game out of reach with Lauren Lithgow made a three-pointer to give Army a 70-59 lead with 1:11 to play.
