Women’s Tennis Rolls over George Washington, 4-2

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Army's West Point women's tennis team claimed its second straight and six of its last seven matches after taking the measure of host George Washington, 4-2, Friday afternoon.
The Black Knights (10-5) grabbed the early doubles point, taking two of the matches behind the tandems of Julia Kelly and Jenna Sabile (6-2) at No. 2 and the duo of Maria Drobotova and Paulina Feoli at No. 3 (6-3).
In singles play, Army captured the No. 3 through 6 spots to put the win in the books. Maria Drobotova pulled out a three-set decision with a 6-1 victory at the No. 3 slot. Julia Kelly rolled to 6-2, 5-3 wins at No. 4 with Carolyn Ahn and Vennmukiil Mathivanan posting one-sided wins at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
Ahn took the measure of her opponent 6-2, 6-0 with Mathivanan winning 6-0. 6-3.

The Black Knights close out their trip to the nation's capital Saturday taking on Georgetown Saturday before returning home for a pair of matches Feb. 25 against Marist and Quinnipiac.
