Black Knights Defeat Georgetown

ARLINGTON, VA. – Army's West Point women's tennis team claimed its thirds straight and seven of its last eight matches after defeating Georgetown, 6-1, Saturday night.
How it Happened
Army (10-5) took the doubles point. Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans defeated Morgan Coburn and Olivia Ashton (6-4) in the No. 1 spot while in the No. 2 position Maria Drobotova and Isabella Brilliant bested Chole Bendetti and Avantika Willy (6-3). Julia Kelly and Jenna Sabile defeated Paige Gilbert and Ashely Kelly 6-2 at the No.3 slot.
The Black Knights continued their success on the court. In the first spot, Cooper Jackson bested Georgetown's Avantika Willy in two sets, 6-2, 6-3. In the second spot, Army's Drobotova competed against Chloe Bendetti. Drobotova defeated Bendetti in two sets 6-1, 7-5.
Freshman Emma Sy faced Agata Mikos in the third slot. Sy defeated Mikos in three sets (6-1, 1-6, 6-3). In the No. 4 position, Jenna Sabile competed against Ashley Kennedy. In a tiebreakers set, Kennedy bested Sabile (7-5, 6-1, 1-0). Army's Ylan Duong went up against Georgetown's Paige Gilbert in the fifth spot. Doung defeated Gilbert with ease in two sets (6-0, 6-2).
In the No. 6 spot, Army's Julia Kelly bested Georgetown's Olivia Ashton in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 1-0).
