Black Knights Sweep at Home, Defeat Monmouth and Villanova

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point women's tennis team defeated the Monmouth Hawks 4-0. Army defeated the Villanova Wildcats 4-1. With today's wins, the Black Knights are now 11-2 at home.
How it Happened
Army won the doubles point vs. the Hawks. Cooper Jackson and Julia Kelly defeated Ann Spurka and Lauren Landstrom 6-2 in the No. 1 position. McKinnley Smith and and Anna Loureiro bested Lenien Jamir and Madison Mills 6-0 in the third position.
In the singles matches, Army continued to dominate the court. In the No. 1 spot, Julia Kelly competed against Monmouth's Ann Spurka. Kelly defeated Spurka in two sets (6-3, 6-3).
In the fifth position, McKinnley Smith went up against Jordyn Pax. Smith bested Pax, winning both sets (6-0, 6-2). In the No. 6 spot, senior Anna Loureiro competed against Lenien Jamir. Loureiro defeated Pax in two sets (6-0, 6-2).
In their match against Villanova, the Black Knights continued their success on the court, taking the doubles point. Cooper Jackson and Julia Kelly bested Emily Callahan and Maggie Gehrig 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 3 position, Paulina Feoli and Carolyn Ahn defeated Amanda Rivera and Valieriia Kornieva 6-1.
In the singles matches, Army continued where they left off, with Cooper Jackson continuing to dominate the court. In the No. 1 spot, Jackson competed against Villanova's Emma Brogan. Jackson defeated Brogan in two sets (6-2, 6-3).
In the third position, freshman Emma Sy competed against Maggie Gehrig. Sy won both sets 6-2, 6-0. Paige Herremans represented the Black Knights in the No. 5 spot, facing Villanova's Isabella Steffen. Herremans won the first set 6-3. In the second set, Steffen came back winning the set 6-3 forcing a third set. Steffen bested Herremans in the third set 6-4.
In the No. 6 spot, Army's Paulina Feoli competed against Caitlin Fisher. After Fisher won the first set, Feoli came from behind, defeating Fisher in the second set forcing a third set. Feoli defeated Fisher in the third set 6-4.
