Men's Rugby Taken Down by Navy, 34-26

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point men's rugby (7-5) was defeated by Navy (15-0) by a score of 34-26 on Friday night from Anderson Rugby Complex.
The Midshipmen took control early, with a penalty kick at the 14-minute mark breaking the scoreless tie.
The Mids eventually scored the first try 19 minutes in to make it a 10-0 game following a good conversion. Navy extended its lead with an additional two try, getting out to a 17-0 lead 32 minutes in.
Army's luck turned in the 35th minute, with Ben Richards and Lucas Pattinson knocking down a Navy kick deep in its own end. Pattinson touched down the first of the night for the Black Knights to eventually make it a 17-7 contest. Jonny Haley made good on the centered conversion for Army.
Navy responded with a good push at the end of the half, scoring its fourth try of the opening 40 minutes. Army went into the half facing a 22-7 deficit.
Dom Tianga made it a 10-point game with a try coming out of half, as Army began to mount a comeback.
Five minutes later, Pattinson got on the board again for the Black Knights after Army moved the ball deep into the Navy half. His second try of the contest made it a 22-19 contest with 30 minutes left to play.
Now just holding a one-score lead, Navy responded with a try at the 59-minute mark which made the score 29-19 following the good conversion. Navy added another pivotal try in the 71st minute, making it a 34-19 contest.
Army didn't go away, with Michael Amberg scoring in the final five minutes to cut the lead down to eight. However, the Midshipmen were able to hold off Army's efforts at the end of the contest to secure the 34-26 victory.
