Pabellon Captures Pommel Horse Title in Ohio State Meet

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Freshman Maddox Pabellon scored a career-high 14.45 to capture pommel horse and Joseph Buselmeier was runner-up on parallel bars, setting a personal best, in leading a strong performance by the Army gymnastics team against No. 7 Ohio State Saturday afternoon at Gross Sports Center.
How it Happened
The Buckeyes, who claimed five of the six individual winners, posted a 409.95 score in their defeat of host Army (387.6).
Pabellon outpointed Ohio State's Kristian Grahovsk's 14.15 to capture the pommel horse title with his score of 14.45, breaking his previous high of 14.35 set in a first-place finish at the West Point Open in January. Gabe Almeida took third in that event behind a personal best 14.05.
Ohio State nipped Army in the team pommel horse scoring by just over a point, 67.35-66.20.
Buselmeier, a sophomore, was second on parallel bars with a 13.65, besting his previous high of 13.25 set three times this season. He also took fifth on still rings (13.35).
Rounding out Army's fifth-place finishers were Johnathan Pinc, vault (14.05), Patrick Armstrong, parallel bars (13.15) and Zachary Perez, high bar (13.15).

Army closes out its home and regular-season slate on Saturday, March 18, at 1 p.m., hosting Springfield College on Senior Day.
