Women's Soccer Falls to American 2-1

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Army West Point women's soccer team dropped a tough match on the road at American on Saturday by a score of 2-1.
Army opened the game by putting a shot just over the cross bar in the second minute. Much like the previous three games, the Black Knights dominated possession.
Despite holding possession for much of the first half, the Eagles were able to break through on a set piece in the 44th minute to go up 1-0.
The second half began with Brigid Duffy scoring her third goal of the season to knot things up at 1-1. The goal came after the ball bounced off of the American goalkeeper's hands, Duffy collected the rebound and put it in the back of the net.
Unfortunately, 16 minutes later in the 66th minute American retook the lead.
The lead would hold and Army would drop its conference opener 2-1.
