Cross Country Sweeps NJIT Highlander XC Challenge

NEWARK, N.J. – Both Army West Point cross country teams brought home big wins on Saturday afternoon in the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge.
Lindsay Cook won the event on the women's side by eight seconds with a time of 18:17.79. Alma Lazo Cazares came in sixth place with a time of 18:41.05. Emmaline Pendleton and Erika Nyerg placed eighth and ninth to wrap up the top 10 finishers on the women's side.
Jess Augustine led the way for the Army coming in second with a time of 25:30.86. Ben Sydell was right behind him in third place at 25:33.17. Harrison Lavery was the other top 10 finisher, coming in seventh place with a time 25:51.41.
Army now turns its attention to the Star Meet on Saturday down in Annapolis. Last season the women's side took home the star.
