First Half Goal Sets Army Back at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Army West Point Men's Soccer was unable to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit at Smith Soccer Complex, falling by the same scoreline at the Holy Cross Crusaders Saturday night in Patriot League action.
The decisive goal came in the 22', by Holy Cross' Evan Jones on a high-arching shot outside the 18-yard box.
Army outshot the home squad 6-5 in the opening 45 minutes and fired one shot on goal.
The Black Knights were held scoreless despite nearly doubling Holy Cross' shot output.
15 fixtures into the 2024 campaign, all of Army's results have been decided by one goal or fewer, sans a 2-0 win over Rider at home October 1.
