Men’s Basketball Dominates Mount St. Mary’s College

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's basketball team (2-1) overwhelmed Mount St. Mary's College (0-2) in front of an enthusiastic Education Day crowd, claiming a commanding 101-48 victory.
The Black Knights set two single-game program records during the game. They sank 18 three-pointers, surpassing the previous record set in 2016 against Air Force. Additionally, Army distributed 30 assists, breaking the single-game assist record established in 2019.
Ryan Curry led the scoring effort with 20 points, including six three-pointers while shooting an impressive .750 from the field. Jalen Rucker and Josh Scovens closely followed, contributing 19 and 18 points, respectively. The team collectively shot .534 from the field and had 15 players score in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSMC got on the board first, but Army did not allow them to establish momentum. The Black Knights drained back-to-back three-pointers and launched a 10-2 run to expand their lead to 16-4.
Mount St. Mary's responded with a layup and a three-pointer, narrowing the gap to single digits at 18-12 with 13:40 remaining in the half. However, Army held strong, extending the lead once again with a Rucker layup and three-pointer. By halftime, Army had stretched their advantage to 53-26.
The second half saw Army maintain control, with both teams trading points briefly before the Black Knights went on a 13-0 run, widening the gap to 72-31. Army sustained their dominance through the final minutes, hitting triple digits and securing a decisive 101-48 victory.
