Swimming & Diving Completes Day Two at NC State Invite

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Army West Point Swimming & Diving completed the second day of NC State's Wolfpack Elite Invitational Friday and delivered a series of standout performances.
The Black Knights saw 29 performances earn places in the afternoon's finals.
For the women, Catriona Gilmore advanced to the finals in both the women's 400 IM (4:25.08) and the women's 100 breast (1:04.19 while Jenna Hart advanced in the women's 100 fly (54.90) and the women's 100 back (56.54).
Clara Williams and Molly Webber swam times of 1:49.19 and 1:49.49 to finish 15th and 16th respectively in the women's 200 free and advance to the afternoon's finals.
On the men's side, the Black Knights showed well in the men's 100 breast with seven swimmers earning places in the finals, led by Kohen Rankin with an eighth-place finish (53.44) and Joey Kling with a 12th place finish (54.07) in the preliminaries.
Freshman Johnny Crush finished second in the men's 100 back preliminaries with a time of 45.76 and went on to finish first overall in the finals with a program record setting time of 45.08.
Kalvin Hahn and Alex Edwards led Army's efforts in the men's 400 IM with times of 3:51.64 and 3:53.47 to finish 12th and 16th. Daniel Verdolaga advanced to the finals for the men's 100 fly with a 47.36 to finish 15th in the preliminaries while Thomas Hadji clocked a 1:36.43 in the men's 200 free to lead Army's qualifiers in the final individual event of the morning.
