Swimming & Diving Wraps-Up Three-Day Meet at Wolfpack Elite Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Army West Point Swimming & Diving completed their third day of competition at NC State's Wolfpack Elite Invitational on Saturday. The Black Knights finished seventh overall in both the men's and women's categories with the women combining for 305.00 total points and the men claiming 399.00 total points.
The Black Knights earned 29 qualifications to the day's final events with 14 of those finishes ranking in the top 20 times for the event's preliminaries.
Bridget O'Shaughnessy and Bethany Slivka clocked times of 17:26.95 and 18:09.20 to finish 17th and 19th in the women's 1650 free. Layne Peterson went on to finish 17th in the preliminaries of the women's 200 back with a time of 1:59.86.
Sydney Braeger clocked the women's highest preliminary finish of the day with a 2:00.19 in the women's 200 fly to rank sixth in the event's initial rounds. Molly Webber and Maggie Kroening joined Braeger in the top-15 for the event preliminaries with times of 2:02.51 and 2:02.76 seeing them to 10th and 13th respectively.
On the men's side, Kalvin Hahn earned a sixth place finish in the preliminaries of the men's 200 breast (1:58.10), joined in the top-10 by Kohen Rankin with a time of 1:58.35 to finish ninth.
Johnny Crush continued to impress in the final day of competition, posting a time of 43.17 in the men's 100 free to set a new program record.
Army saw three athletes in the top 15 of the men's 200 fly with Jack Pogue ranking 13th (1:47.49), Daniel Verdolaga right with him in 14th (1:48.13), and Jack Mowery finishing 17th in the preliminaries (1:49.36).
Three Black Knights attempted time trials during their time in Greensboro, N.C. CJ Bernauer logged a time of 1:52.26 in the men's 200 IM while Evy Laursen put up a 2:06.19 in the women's 200 fly and Jack Mowery put up a 4936 in the men's 100 fly.
