Men's Rugby Set to Host Guelph for Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's rugby team will host Guelph University on Saturday for its senior day at noon. The match will be streamed on YouTube.
SCOUTING GUELPH
- The Gryphons enter this match sitting at 10-1 with a 3-0 record on the road.
- They took home the bronze medal in the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship beating Memorial Sea-Hawks 38-12
- They have wins of 95-0 and 83-3 so far this season
HEAR FROM THE TEAM
Head Coach Matt Sherman: We're very excited to host one of Canada's top teams in Guelph University tomorrow and appreciate them coming down. We're looking forward to the challenge that awaits, and our aim is to follow up a strong performance with another, whilst giving the opportunity to many younger players who have earned our trust to wear the jersey and put their hand up.
Luke Leech: This weekend is a big opportunity for a some guys on the team. We're looking forward to going out and playing another game with the brothers. We're also excited to be tested against a good team like Guelph.
Jacob Bottarini: The game against Cal was a huge step forward for the team. We played very well as a collective unit and hopefully we'll carry this over to this week. Tomorrow's game is a great opportunity for a lot of younger guys to put their hand up and show their talent. We plan on taking a great step forward in the team's progression with this game as well as furthering the depth of the finishers group.
Isaac Gamboa: The guys are super excited for the opportunity we have on Saturday. We took down a very good Cal team last weekend, and we're all focused on building off that performance and continuing the climb toward our new best. We are definitely looking forward to the battle this weekend.
Joe Manning: This is a great opportunity against Guelph this weekend. We're coming off of one of our biggest wins ever, but we're still committed to focusing on ourselves and on our own rate of improvement. It's a great chance for us to continue climbing and improving against a really solid side.
