Rifle Closes Out Trip to Alaska

FAIRBANKS, ALASKA - Addison Antwiler and Briggs Moore posted Army's top scores in air rifle and smallbore, respectively, as the Black Knights rifle team closed out their trip to Alaska taking on Ole Miss and Akron.

Army fell to Akron, 4711-4688, in a Great America Rifle Conference match, while Ole Miss took top honors with a 4740. Army and the Zips matched points in air rifle as both teams fired 2366s, but Akron outpointed the Black Knights 2345-2322 in smallbore to clinch the victory.

Antwiler fired a 593 to place sixth in air rifle after being edged 48-45 on centers by Ole Miss M'Leah Lambdin for fifth. She also placed 14^th in smallbore (578).

Moore was Army's top shooter in smallbore with a 585 to place seventh and also fired a 590 (11^th) in air rifle en route to breaking into the top ten in the aggregate scoring with an 1175 to claim eighth.

Finishing among Army's leaders in smallbore were Nichola Bull (582, 11^th), Brenna Green (580, 12^th) and Ashton Arlington (579, 13^th). Bull and Chris Jennings also recorded 585s in air rifle with Barbara Forgues posting a 583.

Army returns home to host Mt. Aloysius, UAB and Nebraska Saturday morning (Jan. 25) at Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.
