Charlotte Richman Named Patriot League Runner of the Week
October 21, 2025 | Women's Cross Country
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After putting together an impressive performance and winning the Army-Navy Meet last Saturday, Charlotte Richman was named the Patriot League Women's Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.
Richman, a senior from Portland, Ore., took home first place for the second consecutive year in the Army-Navy Meet on Saturday at the West Point Golf Course after winning it in Annapolis last year. She posted an impressive time of 19:49.6 in the 6k race, which marked a new personal best. She finished nearly 25 seconds ahead of second place.
The Black Knights swept the top six spots en route to a perfect score and the most dominant victory in the women's Army-Navy race.
"Charlotte dominated the Star Meet this weekend. She won this race a year ago with the same fearless, hard charging race plan and Saturday, we got the same result," Director of Cross Country Mike Smith said. "She has made a career of gutsy races, and this weekend was more of the same. The gun went off, and she went right to the front. She set a punishing pace and was never challenged. She told me that she wanted to get the most of herself this weekend and I'm certain that she did that. We have been fortunate to watch her go to work on the cross country course over the last four years. She has led this team from the front and set us up for a lot of the winning that we have experienced during her tenure. She has more cross country racing ahead of her but the win this weekend was a great start to the championship season."
Up Next
Richman and the rest of the cross country team returns to the course next Friday, Oct. 31, for the Patriot League Championships in Bethlehem, Pa., where the women will look to defend their 2024 championship.
