Army Gymnastics Unveils 2026 Season Schedule in Centennial Year
October 31, 2025 | Men's Gymnastics
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's gymnastics team has announced its 2026 competition schedule as Head Coach JD Reive enters his third season leading the Black Knights. The upcoming campaign marks a historic milestone - the 100-year anniversary of Army Gymnastics. The program will celebrate the centennial season on its home floor during the 2026 ECAC Championships on April 4th at Holleder Center.
Building on a Record-Breaking Season
Army is coming off a season that saw the program capture the ECAC Championship for the first time in nine years, earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships, where the team Beat Navy to finish 10th - the highest team placement in program history. This year, the Black Knights aim to defend their ECAC title, celebrate a century of tradition, and climb even higher on the national stage.
A New Era of ECAC Competition
For the first time in conference history, the ECAC will feature regular-season team standings, with every member institution facing one another up until postseason. Army's 2026 schedule reflects that new format, featuring matchups against every ECAC opponent throughout the regular season. The inaugural ECAC Regular-Season Champion will be crowned ahead of the Conference Championship, adding a new level of strategy and rivalry to each meet.
Season at a Glance
The Black Knights begin their 2026 campaign on Jan. 10 at Penn State, before hosting the annual West Point Open on Jan. 16 - 17, one of only four premier national invitationals designated as a qualification event for Winter Cup.
Army then embarks on a three-meet road stretch - visiting Simpson College in Indianola, IA on Jan. 24, traveling to Annapolis, MD. for the Star Match against Navy on Feb. 7 (part of the Star Series presented by USAA), and closing with the All-Academy Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, on Feb. 13, where the Black Knights will face Navy and Air Force.
The team wraps up February in Columbus, OH, for a tri-meet with The Ohio State and William & Mary, before returning home on March 7 to host Greenville University and Springfield College in the one and only Gross Center home meet for Senior Night.
Postseason Push
Army will send a full team to the USAG Collegiate National Championships in Colorado Springs, CO, on March 20 - 21, where gymnasts will compete for both team and individual titles. Cadet Conor Heary, the reigning USAG Collegiate National Parallel Bars Champion, will look to defend his title.
The Black Knights then return home to host the 2026 ECAC Championships on April 4, where they'll celebrate 100 years of Army Gymnastics while pursuing back-to-back conference crowns. Qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA Championships in Champaign, Ill., on April 17 - 18, where Army aims to surpass last year's historic top-10 finish.
Coach's Outlook
"We are determined to capitalize on the success of last year by adhering to the process that led us to this point: mindset, preparation, and unwavering attention to detail," said Head Coach JD Reive. "With the majority of last year's lineup returning, the team is focused on increasing the difficulty (potential score) while maintaining the high standard of execution that has become synonymous with this team."
