Rifle Freshman Antwiler Qualifies for NCAA Air Rifle Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army rifle freshman Addison Antwiler has qualified for the NCAA air rifle championships.
In Army's NCAA qualifying match this past Saturday, February 22, the freshman shined leading the way for the Black Knights, tying her season-high mark to claim first place in air rifle with a score of 596. Her aggregate mark of 1177 was also the best among all Army shooters.
Antwiler averaged an air rifle score of 591.92, the highest mark among all Army air rifle averages this season. Her aggregate score of 1169.38 was also tops for the Black Knights.
She becomes the first Army rifle member to qualify for the NCAA Championship since Claudia Sigel did so in smallbore in 2022 and the first in air rifle since Kaitlyn Kutz in 2020, but that competition was canceled due to the pandemic.
She will be the first Army shooter at the NCAA Championship to compete in air rifle since the entire team qualified during the 2019 season.
Antwiler, from Madisonville, La. attended Mandeville High School where she was a State Champion for all four years.
The rifle championships consist of individual smallbore rifle three-position (60 shots) and air rifle (60 shots), with individual finals in each event, team smallbore rifle three-position and team air rifle.
