Mac Gadowsky & Jack Ivey Earn Atlantic Hockey America Monthly Awards

BOSTON - Army West Point hockey sophomore defenseman Mac Gadowsky was named Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Month while freshman forward forward Jack Ivey earned AHA Rookie of the Month for February, announced today by the league.
The duo helped Army to a 3-2-2 record in the month including a pair of shootout victories which propelled the Black Knights into the fifth spot in the AHA Tournament, also securing a first round bye in the process.
Gadowsky led all defenseman in the conference with nine points in the month through a goal and eight assists. He logged a pair of three-point efforts, assisting three times in game two against Sacred Heart before logging a goal and two assists in the second game at Air Force as Army battled from three goals down for the shootout win. Gadowsky recorded a point in five of seven games total as he continues to pace the conference in goals (12) and points (35) among defensemen. The recognition also marks back-to-back months in which Gadowsky has received the award.
Ivey led Army with four goals and nine points in the month as he recorded a point in five of seven games for the Black Knights including all three wins and both shootout victories. He earned AHA Rookie of the Week earlier in the month after a five-point weekend against Sacred Heart which featured his first career multi-goal game and first career three-point game. Ivey went on to record three points at Air Force including a pivotal game in game two, before scoring the game-tying goal in Army's regular season finale against AIC. Ivey ranks second among all rookies in the conference with 10 goals and 23 points.
Army will head to Niagara for the AHA Quarterfinals, taking on the Purple Eagles in a best-of-three series from March 7-9.
