Women’s Basketball Falls to Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Army West Point Women's basketball team (16-5, 8-3 PL) fell to Bucknell (11-11, 7-4 PL) 75-65 Saturday afternoon.
Reese Ericson recorded a career-high 28 points, breaking Bucknell's opponent record for most three-pointers in Sojka Pavilion and tying Army's program record with eight in the game.
Following was Fiona Hastick who scored 13 on the afternoon and Kya Smith who had 10 and six rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Army started strong, with Reese Ericson hitting back-to-back three-pointers, followed by another three from Fiona Hastick, giving the Black Knights a 9-2 lead. However, Bucknell responded with an 18-1 run, ending the quarter ahead 20-10.
The Black Knights attempted a comeback, narrowing the gap to 22-18 thanks to two threes and a jumper from Ericson. Despite their efforts, Bucknell maintained control, leading 34-27 at halftime.
Bucknell continued to build on their lead in the third quarter. An 11-2 run pushed the Bison's advantage to 46-32. Army managed to reduce the deficit to 48-41, but Bucknell closed the quarter with a 5-0 run, making it 53-41 heading into the final period.
In the final quarter, Bucknell's offense remained potent, with Sofilkanich scoring 10 of her game-high 25 points. The Bison achieved their largest lead at 64-47. Army's Ericson hit a late three-pointer, but Bucknell secured the 75-65 victory.
