Brown, Christiana Named in Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Junior infielder Taylor Brown and freshman utility player Annie Christina were named to Patriot League weekly honors.
Taylor Brown was named to her second Patriot League Player of the Week honor while Annie Christiana was named to her third Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor.
Brown wins her second Player of the Week honor after batting .476, leading the Black Knights to a series win against Boston University.
Alongside hitting .476, the junior finished the week totaling 10 hits, six runs and four RBIs across four games for the Black Knights, including a series win against Boston University.
The infielder recorded three extra-base hits on the week, including two doubles and a triple. Against Iona, Brown posted a season-high three RBIs to go with her two hits and one run scored.
Christiana wins her third Rookie of the Week honor after recording a career-high three hits in the Black Knights' 10-1 win over Boston University in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
The freshman batted .381 for the Black Knights finishing the week with eight hits, six runs and four RBIs.
After earning a new career high in hitting, Christiana matched her career-high with two runs in the series finale. In centerfield, Christiana recorded eight putouts with no errors.
Alongside the two honorees, sophomore pitcher Katelyn Flanders received an honorable mention in the voting.
Flanders started and earned the win in both of Army's victories over Boston University, pitching a total of 10.2 innings. The sophomore held the Terriers to its lowest scoring output in League play this season with one run allowed on Saturday and gave up just six total runs in the series.
The Black Knights will return to action on Saturday and Sunday as they head to Easton, Pennsylvania, to take on the Lafayette Leopards.
The doubleheader on Saturday and the single game on Sunday both begin at 12 p.m., with all three games in the series streaming live on ESPN+.
