Armistead & Ton Earn Men's Tennis All-Patriot League Honors

BETHLEHEM, PA - Army West Point men's tennis freshman Jackson Armistead was named to the All-Patriot League First Team while sophomore Alan Ton earned All-Patriot League Second Team recognition, announced today by the league.
The duo led the Black Knights at the top two singles positions throughout the season, as Army achieved a 13-8 overall record while reaching the Patriot League semifinals.
Armistead had a breakout plebe season for the Black Knights, posting a 13-2 overall record in singles including an undefeated 5-0 mark in Patriot League play. He finished out the campaign with an 11-2 mark at flight one, while being 2-0 at flight two. He did his best work down the stretch, winning both of his bouts at flight one in the Patriot League Tournament over Colgate and Navy. His three other conference wins came over Lehigh, Holy Cross and Loyola Maryland. Armistead logged victories over Marist, Quinnipiac, Binghamton, Hofstra, Sacred Heart, Fairfield, Marquette and Richmond as well, as the Black Knights were 10-2 in matches in which Armistead was victorious. He also tabbed a 7-4 doubles record on the campaign which featured a 10-2 mark in the conference, besting Colgate, Boston University and Loyola Md.
Ton had an 8-5 mark on the season which included a 2-1 mark at flight one and 6-4 record at the number two position. Ton collected victories at flight one over Marquette and Wagner while adding wins at flight two over Marist, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Hofstra and then Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament. Ton added five doubles wins throughout the year including three in conference play over Holy Cross, Colgate and Lafayette.
