Men's Tennis Sweeps Saturday Contests

WEST POINT, N.Y. – It was a dominant Saturday for Army West Point men's tennis, as the Black Knights opened Patriot League play with a pair of 4-0 wins over Lafayette and Holy Cross at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
Army (14-7) dropped one set all day as it opens its conference schedule with a pair of wins.
Army 4, Lafayette 0
Army kicked things off with an impressive 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles from Marcus Sebastian and Tucker Culpepper. The Black Knights fell 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. With the opening point being decided at the third doubles position, Preston Achter and Rudy Mazzola gave Army the 1-0 lead with a 6-4 win.
Alan Ton doubled Army's advantage with a strong 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 for his 11th singles win of the dual season. Daniel Choi quickly followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 to put Army up 3-0.
Tucker Culpepper clinched the match victory for Army with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3, his third of the season. The remaining three matches in singles went unfinished.

The Black Knights' dominance from the morning carried over into its evening match. In doubles, Choi and Jack Hanna recorded a 6-2 win in the No. 1 spot, and Culpepper and Sebastian won 6-2 at No. 3 to take the 1-0 lead.
In singles, Matias Feoli recorded a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3. Davis McDonald had a strong 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5. Hanna capped off a strong match at No. 6, winning 6-1, 6-3. Like the opening match, the remaining singles battles went unfinished.
