Men’s Rugby’s Gould Named Rudy Scholz Player of the Year Finalist

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Men's Rugby's Nathan Gould has been named a Rudy Scholz Player of Year Award finalist.
The award, which recognizes the nation's top male college rugby player, can be voted on through the end of Wednesday.
Goff Rugby Report awards the trophy and oversees the selection committee. The award is named after rugby legend Rugby Scholz, who played the sport at Santa Clara, was decorated in two World Wars, and helped the USA win two Olympic Gold Medals in 15-a-side rugby in 1920 and 1924. He was a successful attorney and dedicated rugby player who played his last game when he was in his 80s.
Gould has been an instrumental piece in Army's 2024-25 season, with the firstie helping lead the Black Knights to a 10-3 regular season campaign. Army defeated Mount St. Mary's in the CRAA Playoffs first round, setting up a quarterfinal matchup with top-seeded Life in Marietta, Ga. April 12.
