No. 4 Men’s Lacrosse Set for 19th Patriot League Tournament Appearance on Friday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After claiming the Patriot League Regular Season Champions title outright for the first time since 2010 last Friday against Loyola Maryland, the No. 4 ranked and No. 1 seed Army West Point men's lacrosse (12-1, 7-1 Patriot League) team is set to take on the No. 5 seed Colgate Raiders (8-7, 4-4 Patriot League) in the first of two Patriot League Semifinal games taking place at Michie Stadium on Friday, May 2nd.

National Rankings: Army put on a dominant showing on Friday over Loyola Maryland and the Black Knights reaffirmed their place in the top five this week Army placed fourth on both the Inside Lacrosse poll and the USILA polls on Monday.
Firing on All Cylinders: Army's defense has held its opponents to a combined 89 goals over 13 games this season. Army leads the nation in goals allowed, scoring defense (6.85), and scoring margin (7.46). Army stands second overall in assists per game (10.00) and tied for first in win percentage (.923).
National Leaderboard: The Black Knights stand tall on the national leaderboards with three team members in the top five of various categories led by Sean Byrne holding the top spot in save percentage (0.633) and GAA (6.77). Jackson Eicher (3.92 goals per game & 6.08 points per game) stands second in the nation in two categories while Christian Fournier stands third in caused turnovers (2.67).
Tewaaraton Finalists: The Black Knights led the nation with four team members earning a spot among the Top 25 Finalists for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award. Sean Byrne (GK), Evan Plunkett (M), AJ Pilate (D), and Jackson Eicher (A) represented Army with a player in all four categories - the only men's team to do so.
Where There's a Will There's a Way: Faceoff specialist Will Coletti has had an incredible senior season at the faceoff x, setting a new Patriot League record for career faceoffs won this season. After a 19-for-25 day against Bucknell, Coletti totaled 750 faceoffs won in his career, surpassing the previous league record of 742 set by Lehigh's Mike Sisselberger ('23). With the game, Coletti boasts a .628 faceoff percentage this season – good for seventh in the nation.
Milestone Central: The Black Knights have reached a slate of career milestones this season across the board. Goalkeeper Sean Byrne crossed the 200 career saves mark, Jackson Eicher, Gunnar Fellows, and Evan Plunkett all crossed the 100 career points threshold. AJ Pilate and Ryan Nixon have both reached 100 career ground balls.
Stellar Season: Senior attacker Jackson Eicher has been leading the Black Knights in goals as the season progresses, totaling 51 goals on the year so far. With five games this season recording at least five goals, Eicher tied Army's single season goals record - set by Tom Cafaro in 1971 with 51 on Friday.
Never Back Down Never What?: The Black Knights have proven to be a thorn in the side of many top teams over the past five seasons. Army is undefeated in its last five games against ACC opponents and boasts an 8-2 record against ACC, Ivy League, and Big 10 programs in its last 10 games against programs from those leagues.
Series History: The Black Knights are 33-12 all time against Colgate dating back to their first meeting in 1923 - a 19-2 win for Army. Army leads 7-3 through the last 10 meetings between the two programs. Army last faced Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament in 2015 where the Raiders claimed an 11-8 win in the championship game.
