Wrestling's Farmer, Stoddard to Compete at Junior Pan-American Games in Paraguay, Scott Green to Coach Khosravy at U20 World Championships

SOFIA, Bulgaria – Army West Point Wrestling will be well-represented on the international stage in August.Â

The Black Knights' Charles Farmer and Lucas Stoddard will represent USA Wrestling at the Junior Pan American Games August 20-22, scheduled for Paraguayan Olympic Park in Asunción, Paraguay, August 20-22. Additionally, Army associate head coach Scott Green will coach Team USA at the United World Wrestling U20 World Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria August 17-24, with plebe wrestler Arvin Khosravy part of the Team USA delegation at Greco-Roman 82 kgs.

In South America, Stoddard will be adding to his medal career in international wrestling, having won the 125 kg freestyle gold medal at the U23 Pan American Wrestling Championships, and also having previously won first place accolades at the 2024 United World Wrestling Pan American Championships in Colombia a year ago. Additionally, he won fifth place honors at the U23 UWW World Championships last year in Albania.

Farmer is set to join Stoddard, having also won gold in Colombia at last year's Pan-Ams at 57 kgs.Â

The competition will feature the six Olympic weight classes in each of the three wrestling disciplines: men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman. In total, there will be 18 weight classes contested. Competition begins each day at 10:00 a.m. local time, with the qualification rounds, followed by the championship finals at 6:00 p.m. Asunción is one hour ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone.

In Bulgaria, Green will lead 30 American Wrestlers, competing across 10 weight classes each in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's wrestling, including Khosravy. Khosravy will look to follow his gold medal performance at the 2023 U20 Pan-American Championships, where he finished first at Greco-Roman 72 kgs in Santiago, Chile.

Green has previously led athletes to International medals in Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Hungary and the Netherlands.
