Women's Socceer Retains Army-Navy Cup With Scoreless Draw Against Navy
October 09, 2026 | Women's Soccer
CHESTER, Pa. — Army West Point women's soccer played Navy to a 0-0 draw Friday in the Army-Navy Cup XV, a Patriot League match at Subaru Park, and the Black Knights retained the Army-Navy Cup. The Black Knights (7-6-1, 4-0-1 Patriot League) have not allowed a goal in six straight matches and have not lost in six meetings with the Midshipmen (10-4-2, 3-1-1).
Army controlled much of the match's pace in the second half, putting six of its eight shots in the final 45 minutes and holding a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Bella Conti and Sophia Henry each put a shot on goal in the second half, but Navy goalkeeper Natasha Stramrood made both saves. Conti's attempt came in the 52nd minute and Henry's in the 55th.
Karalyn Dail made two saves in goal for her seventh shutout of the season, stopping shots from Navy's Sophia Ryan in the 16th minute and Chiara Cosenza in the 27th. Army's defense limited Navy to six shots, two on goal, and no corner kicks. Daisy West, Grace Pohlidal, Ailyn Rowe, Conti and Blanca Webb played all 90 minutes, and Dail has now gone six straight matches without allowing a goal, a run that began with the 1-0 win over Cornell on Sept. 10.
Army outshot Navy, 8-6, including 6-2 in the second half. Maddi Woodward had a team-high two shots, as did Conti, and Pohlidal, Leila Castell, Grace Burns and Henry each added one.
The draw is Army's second straight in the series after last year's 2-2 tie at Subaru Park. Army is 4-0-2 in its last six meetings with Navy, and Navy leads the all-time series, 18-16-6. No star was awarded in the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA for the match.
