No. 24/24 Women’s Lacrosse Makes History in Upset Victory against No. 16/17 Loyola Maryland

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's lacrosse made history on Saturday afternoon handing Loyola Maryland (4-4, 1-1 Patriot League), their first loss in Patriot League regular season games in 95 tries and their first victory over the Greyhounds in program history by a score of 18-10. Army (6-2, 2-0 Patriot League) was led by senior Allison Reilly's eight-point performance and secured their first ranked win of the 2026 season.

The Black Knight will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to take on the Bucknell Bison for the third straight Patriot League game on Saturday March 21. First draw is set for 1 p.m.

- The Black Knights started the game strong going on a 4-0 run thru the first half of the first quarter, highlighted by two goals by senior Brigid Duffy. The Greyhounds responded with a goal of their own, but Army would score the next three goals to finish quarter one with a 7-1 lead.
- Going into the second quarter, the Black Knights continued to push scoring the next three goals to open the quarter and take a 10-1 lead. Senior Allison Reilly scored two of the three goals with senior Chloe Garret scoring on a free position.
- Notably, Duffy on the left elbow found a cutting Reilly thru the 8 meters. Reilly caught the ball and make a behind the back shot that beat the Loyola goalie. With the assist, Duffy earned her 300th career point of her Army West Point career.
- The Greyhounds would score three of the next four goals with junior Ryan Remaly scoring the Black Knights goal to make it 11-4 going into the half, making the largest Patriot League halftime deficit for the Black Knights
- The Greyhounds would get on the board first in the second half at 13:09 but at 10:15, Duffy responded with a goal of her own to keep the seven-goal lead.
- The Greyhounds scored the next two goals of the game to make it 12-7 at 9:13 in the third quarter.
- Army would score the next two off the crosses of Reilly and junior Sarah Wood.
- Wood scored her second of the day on a drive from the top of the 8 meter that beat the Loyola goalie in the top left corner to make it 14-7 for the Black Knights at 3:07 left in the third quarter. The Black Knights took a 14-7 lead into the final quarter.
- Just a minute and a half into the final frame, Wood scored a free position goal to earn her second career hat trick. Duffy would score two more goals in the final frame along with a goal from junior Ryan Remaly in the closing minute to make it 18-10.
