Dominant Wins Propel Women’s Tennis to Unbeaten Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's tennis was dominant in wins Saturday over Lafayette and Holy Cross at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

The Black Knights improved to 20-4 and 5-0 in Patriot League play with the pair of wins.

Both matches finished with a 4-0 dual scoreline. Army didn't drop a set in either of Saturday's matches. After clinching the doubles point in the 8:00 a.m. match vs. Lafayette, singles wins from Emily Ruckno, Ylan Duong and Sarah Yan sealed the team win in concise fashion.

Army was even more swift in its win over Lafayette on Saturday afternoon. After once again clinching the doubles point, it took just 41 minutes in singles play for the Black Knights to clinch, with Stacey Samonte, Isabella Brilliant and Alexandra Oshidar each winning their singles matches in convicting fashion. For Samonte, it was a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Brilliant and Oshidar collected double bagels. Emma Sy also won her first set 6-0 in an unfinished singles match.
