Brooke Wilson Earns Academic All-District Honors

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point's Brooke Wilson earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for women's basketball, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
To be eligible for the honor, the athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have appeared in 90 percent of the institution's games or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Wilson, a sophomore from Bryn Mawr, Pa., is an engineering management major and has an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.77. Wilson has started 30 games this season and has been a massive contributor on both ends of the floor, especially defensive. She was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team.
Serving as one of the best on-ball defenders on Army and in the conference, Wilson is second on the team with 46 steals this season. According to Her Hoops, Wilson has a steal percentage of 3.2 percent, which is in the 91st percentile of Division I players. In addition to her steal percentage, Her Hoops has Wilson in the 89th percentile of defensive win shares (1.3) and defensive rating (83.3).
Offensively, Wilson is averaging 5.3 points per game. She has five games of 10-plus points, which includes a career-high 12 points against Bucknell on Jan. 21.
Wilson has been named to the Dean's List three times and is a recipient of the Superintendent's Award.
Army is back in action on Wednesday in the WNIT Super 16, hosting La Salle at Christl Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
