Rabble Rousers Compete in Day One of Nationals, Advance to Finals in Two Categories

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Army West Point rabble rousers saw a strong first day of competition at NCA/NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship, competing in the Game Day, Pom and Advanced Small Coed categories, earning finals appearances in two categories.
Army started its day competing in the Game Day category, and finished with a 92.0 raw score and 91.0 overall score with only one deduction. That score allowed the Rabble Rousers to finish second in the Game Day Division IA prelims, allowing the team to advance to the final on Saturday.
The Rabs will perform in the Game Day Division IA finals on Saturday at 1:56 p.m. at the Bandshell.
As for Pom, the Rabs competed and finished with a 60.26 raw score, finishing 15th overall in the Pom Division IA preliminaries.
In the Advanced Small Coed category, the Rabs finished with a raw score of 89.0 overall, seeing zero deductions. With that scoring, the Rabs finished fourth overall, finishing above programs including Iowa State, BYU, Kansas and UCF and will advance to the finals on the IA Division.
The Rabs will compete in Advanced Small Coed Division IA finals on Friday at 5:12 p.m. at the Bandshell.
